With the usual Fall season product launch event fast approaching, the anticipation for Apple’s newest smartphone offering, the iPhone 15, has reached fever pitch. This annual tradition, which has typically seen the tech giant release new models in its flagship line, is still shrouded in some mystery for 2023, as an exact date is yet to be announced. However, one thing is sure: eager customers are already looking forward to catching a glimpse of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and the tantalizingly rumored iPhone 15 Pro Max or the iPhone 15 Ultra.
Remember the buzz about an iPhone 15 Ultra early this year? After months of silence, it seems that the rumors of the ultra model might be resurfacing, adding to the excitement surrounding this year’s launch.
The Likely Launch Date for iPhone 15
Projecting the iPhone 15 launch date is no exact science, but past Apple launches provide a helpful template. Historically, Apple has favored the first or second week of September for its product reveals, predominantly on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. The iPhone 14 followed this pattern with its announcement on September 7 and the release of three out of four models on September 16, while the iPhone 14 Plus followed on October 7.
Considering these trends, we can surmise that the iPhone 15 series could be unveiled on either September 5 or 12, both Tuesdays, with the alternative dates of September 6 or 13 also on the table. If the pattern holds, we can expect the iPhone 15 models to hit the shelves a little over a week after the launch event.

Potential Delays and Surprises
However, this anticipated timeline could be disrupted by potential production setbacks. Reports from Bank of America analyst Wamsi Mohan suggest that there could be production issues with the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max displays, potentially pushing the entire iPhone 15 series release back to late October.
One major question that continues to spark speculation is whether the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be launched as a standalone unit or be replaced by the so-far hypothetical iPhone 15 Ultra. Another fascinating theory suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the iPhone 15 Ultra could both be released, making it a total of five new iPhones instead of four.
These speculations hint at the exciting possibility of a completely new iPhone category being introduced in 2023. As we inch closer to Apple’s official announcement, the buzz around the iPhone 15 and its potential new family member continues to build. Regardless of the naming, Apple’s dedicated fans are geared up and ready to queue, ensuring that the newest iPhone—whatever it may be called—is in their hands at the earliest.
